Hugh, Thank you for taking the time to try to help me. The info you found at the sight you listed was submitted by me to the NM web site, but thank you for taking the time to do a search. And yes, I have seen the 1910 census for my grandmother. I have not been able to figure out what her younger brother's name is. I, too, thought it said "Herest." It is probably Herbert, or some thing similar. I will check out the the Downey family in the next county over. I am willing to look anywhere! I did find a man named John Downey who was stationed at a military base somewhat near Kingsville, where my mother was born, but I haven't been able to find out any other info on him. I have often wondered if he was a soldier in WW I because of the time frame of his dying.

Since you were so nice in checking things for me, why don't you send me what you have on your brick wall and I will try looking for you. Sometimes someone else can see something another has overlooked. I promise nothing except to try!
