Now I see why I missed Alford the first time I checked 1900 census. Index lists him as Allie M. York. There is some writing over part of his name, it might be Albert, but surely not Alford. Glad you know where he is until he dies, I don't spot Alford on other census records.

Boy, I've tried the 1880 census for those Yorks and can't find them either. And, as for census and DC not matching, I don't know which record has the most errors, both are bad. (^_^)
