Do you suppose this is your Garvin L. Tucker and family:
1880 census Harper, Dorsey Co, AR:
Category: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.
N. B. TUCKER Self M Male W 36 MS Farming NC MS
M. E. TUCKER Wife M Female W 35 NC Keeps House NC AR
A. B. TUCKER Son S Male W 12 AR Works On Farm --- ---
J. F. TUCKER Son S Male W 8 AR --- ---
G. L. TUCKER Son S Male W 6 AR --- ---
Mary J. TUCKER Dau S Female W 3 AR --- ---
1920 census Red River Co, TX:
Tucker, Garvin L., hd, 47, md, b AR, NC, AR
" Augusta, w, 37, md, b TX, IN, TX
" Morine, d, 16, b TX
" Gus, s, b OK
" Haskell, s, 10, b OK
" Louis, s, 6, b OK
" Bertha, d, 4 2/12, b OK
1910 census Pushmataha Co, OK:
Tucker, Garvin, hd, 34, M(1) 12 yrs, b AR, NC, AR
" Austen, w, 29, M(1) 12, 5 ch, 5 lvg, b TX, IN, TX
" Homer, s, 11, b TX
" Luceal, d, ?, b TX
" Morine, d, 6, b TX
" Gustis, s, 4, b OK
" Haskell, s, 2, b OK
This may be fishing, but I think this is the same couple with enumerator errors, which are common on census records. Note birth locations for wife TX, IN, TX, not common combination, and son fits the Homer from above census. Wife is "G" which could be Gusta, short for Augusta. Red River Co, TX is near Pushmataha Co, OK.
1900 census Red River Co, TX;
Tucker, J. L., hd, b Jul 1875, 24, M 2 yrs, b AR, SC, AR
" G., w, b May 1882, 18, M 2 yrs, 1 ch, 1 lvg, b TX, IN, TX
" H. L., son, b Apr 1899, 1/12, b TX
Combined info from TX Dth Idx and SSDI:
Tucker, Haskell T., b 1 Feb 1909; d 7 Jul 1978 Tarrant Co, TX; last residence Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, TX; SS card issued in TX.
Tucker, Gussie Garvin, b 26 May 1907; d 19 Feb 1982 Tarrant Co, TX; last residence Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co, TX; SS card issued in TX.
You might do a little more research on N.B. Tucker from the 1880 census, and either prove or disprove him as the father of your Garvin. Look for land and probate records, does Garvin show up as an heir?
Name of Dorsey Co, AR changed in 1883 to Cleveland. Dorsey was formed from Bradley, Jefferson, Dallas and Lincoln counties.
1860 census Bradley Co, AR.
Tucker, Norman, 25, b MS
" Elizabeth, 25, b NC
" Augustus, 3, b AR.
N.B. could be Norman, M.E. could be Elizabeth and A.B. could be Augustus. I thought Gus was named for his mother Augusta, but maybe it was for a brother named Augustus. Ages and birth locations fit.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
