Good luck with your search! It really sounds as though the cemetery records were deficient -- and/or that they buried two people in one plot, which is illegal, but which I understand was sometimes done in the past.

Have you tried talking to Lloyd Bockstruck at the Dallas Public Library? He is a very prominent genealogist; he had (and still may have) a column in the Dallas paper. Perhaps he would have some ideas for you, such as the most efficient way to search through Dallas County cemeteries.
