I hope this is some new info for you. It doesn't connect the dots with your ADKINS, but will give you more info on the AUSTINs, where you believe there may be ties.

Below....Moses AUSTIN (b. in Conn., not NC, and bur. in MO), then Stephen F. AUSTIN (s/o Moses), then SFA's nephew, Stephen F. AUSTIN Jr., who lived only a few years at the plantation.

It appears this family liked to use the same given names throughout its many branches, as Moses' brother was named Stephen, too. The Moses buried in the cemetery near Brazoria was not the original Moses AUSTIN of early Texas history.
