Hi Sabrina, Best wishes in your new marriage. May I make a few suggestions for your research? Your query is good, because you included NAMES, DATES and LOCATIONS, but it might help if you could get a little more on Joseph and Bessie. We always suggest when beginning family research, talk to as many family members as you can, just be prepared not all family stories will match exactly. (^_^)

A copy of the birth certificate for Henry should not only show names of his parents, but their ages and where they were born. Does anyone in the family have a copy? If not, you should be able to obtain a copy from the county where he was born.

Combined information from TX Dth Idx and SSDI (Soc Sec Dth Idx):

Caston, Bessie Louise, b 1 Dec 1900; d 25 May 1992, Coke Co, TX; SS card issued in TX

A copy of her death certificate should show the names of her parents, but accuaracy only as good as the knowledge of the informant. On the other hand she filled out the application for her Soc Sec card, and it should show the names of her parents, her residence at the time she applied for her card and other data, too.

Once you have the name of her father, you can look for the family on census records. The name Johnson is pretty common, so you'll need everything you can find on him, to help narrow down that search.

I don't see Joseph Caston, do you know when and where he died?

Happy Hunting (^_^)
