Joan-P S According to the 1920 census, Emma was 65 which would have had her born in 1854 since her brother, William was born in 1885 (making her about 3 years older than Jordan). I have not been able to locate them yet on a 1900 census. They should be in Ardmore, Carter Co, Indian (or OK territory at that time, as should William F (aka Bill) and Anna Elizabeth (Hutchins) Stanfield (b 1859-1860 Panola Co, TX--I found her at the USGenWeb Panola site in 1860 cenus with age l listed and the 1870 Panola site census).

I have no idea where William F, Emma, or their parents were before 1880 except that they were all born in GA. I've always been told the kids were born in/around Atlanta, but maybe it was Agusta. I think their folks must have been like William and Emma, forever on the move until their last years in NM.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am still searching. Maybe one of these days.... Sue
