W C,
Thank-you very much for the extra information.I have some of the info that you mentioned from a news article that was done up at the time of Mrs. Proctors death. Some of it is differant, but most of the main details are about the same. Although, mine mentions that she was riding home and discovered the little girl, Elvira, grabbed her and took her to her fathers home, which was a few miles away.of course the name of her (cc proctor) father is never mentioned. It also mentions that the baby, Georgianna, was discovered by a man by the name of Jimmie Gilliland in the fallen tree.
I just find the story interesting, and I hope that it will lead me to more information on her family, which seems to be pretty scarce! so there are three Wofford Johnsons buried at Hopewell?hmm..could be another clue!I know that it was known as the Enoch Johnson cemetery at one time, but I havent found a connection with those johnsons as of yet.
anyways, THANK-YOU so much for taking the time to let me know all of this.It is very much appreciated!!!I will also see if i can find the book that you mentioned.
take care,
sincerely Kim f
