Do you know anything else about family of your Benjamin? Do you know state of birth for those first two children, Lavelle and Horace? Here is a "possible" match from 1880 census, White Oak, Franklin Co, AR:

Categories: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.

Benjamin R. BRADLEY1 Self M Male W 27 TN Farmer KY VA
Nannie BRADLEY2 Wife M Female W 19 AR Keeping House VA AR
Sarah BRADLEY3 Mother W Female W 57 VA At Home MA VA
C. J. BRADLEY4 Brother S Male W 19 TX Farming KY VA

From age of Nannie, I would say they are recently married, and haven't had children, yet. If you think this could be your Benjamin, then he didn't medically treat Jesse in 1880. Jesse and Frank, with their families, were living in TN under the names of Woodson and Howard. As you learn more about Benjamin, do a time line for him, and then one for Jesse. You could see if Ben was anywhere near Jesse at any given time. (^_^)
