Here is URL for TX GenWeb site:

Clickable county map for state of TX, plus other good stuff. Click and browse the site. Some information you may not need at this time, but you'll know what is there and where to find it later, if needed. (^_^)

Under "Counties" click on first item, click on "D", click on Denton Co. That takes you to the county site. Click and look at everything they have to offer.

Under "Queries", click and make sure your search is for Denton Co, then type in Griggs. There are two postings for that name.

Under "Surnames" there is one person listed as working on Griggs, click on her name and send her an email.

Denton Co, TX is just north of Fort Worth/Dallas almost to the border between TX and OK.

Since you know when and where Charles died, have you had a chance to obtain a copy of his death certificate? It should show the names of his parents. Accuracy only as good as the knowledge of the informant. But, you can also obtainn a copy of his application for a Soc Sec card, which he filled out, and it should have the names of his parents, residence at time of application and other data, too.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
