G W Walker family missing in 1860 census - Bastrop County?
Posted by: Hugh (ID *****8954) Date: March 21, 2003 at 19:30:40

This family is supposed to be in Bastrop county in 1860. Looking for years. Any help appreciated.

Walker George W b:? ?(might be MO,GA,AL)
Walker Deborah (Layton) b:1822 NJ
Walker William P b:1853 TX
Walker Annie B b:1856 TX
Walker Lorenso Dow b:1857 TX
Walker John Henry b:1859 TX
Walker Edwin b:1861

As you can see I'm trying to get information on George W Walker. I know he married in Matagorda Co, TX 1852; enlisted CSA 1862; Civil War, POW, died 1863 near Knoxville, TN. His wife and son, Edwin, died about same time in Bastrop, TX. Maybe cemetery record might help.

Thanks ahead of time
Hugh
