If you're sure of the surname of Bolind for Josie, I would follow up on this family. There are only two listed on the 1880 census and the other family is up in CT. This from Auxvasse, Callaway Co, MO 1880 census.

Categories: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.

Numan BOLIND Self M Male W 51 VA Farmer VA VA
Louisa BOLIND Wife M Female W 61 KY Keeping House KY KY
Lenish BOLIND Son S Male W 19 MO Farmer VA KY

Check land and probate records for his Numan, see if Josie shows up as an heir, either in the probate, or signing off as an heir for sale of land.

Have you obtained a copy of Josie's death certificate? It should show the names of her parents.

Charlie Johnson is pretty common, do you have anything else on him?

Happy Hunting (^_^)
