I copied and pasted this information from Jack Co, TX 1880 census, so spellings are as they appear on the site:
Categories: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.

Looks like they moved from MO to TX between births of daughters Mary and Louisa.William may have come from Taney Co, MO, but looks like he was born in KY.I would check 1870 & 1860 censuses for Taney Co, then check out land records there, too.See if William shows up involved in sale of any land as an heir.Land records sometimes tell us lots of things. (^_^)
Check Jack Co, TX GenWeb site, some GenWeb counties are not only putting their cemeteries online, but other county records, too.Be sure to check the archived section of the TX GenWeb Project for additional county records.
Post a query on that county site, see if anyonehas a county history and would they check for any possible information on the the Cook family. If he was a doctor, there's a good chance something will at least be mentioned in a county history.
I would also "play around" with Cooks on Taney Co, MO census records, the following from 1880.Note James is old enough to be father William, and born in KY as William shows his father was also born.If this James is not his father, good chance he is connected, maybe an uncle.Angeline musthave been a popular name in that area.Note widowed dau of James.
