Sorry to correct you but the 1890 Veterans census was for any Veteran and their widows who were eligible for a pension either from the state or Federal Government. There were even a few War of 1812 veterans in it. It was for an accounting of the Tax dollars and to assure their proper useage. You can cross check the census with the Confederate applications (at least here in Texas - we have copies of both indexes) and eliminate the Rebs. Betty Notify Administrator about this message?
