Mosby Mystery

Hi Adele, I went to your Mosby site and do not find any of these Mosbys on your chart/index.I tried all of them on the online 1880 census.Of course Gustaveous could have been spelled many ways, so I tried the others -- no Cleveland, no Ruby, a few Louisas (varioius spellings) nonematched.I tried any Mosby born in 1871 and a few years in either direction -- no Gustaveous (any spelling). The LDS version of the 1880 online picks up the spelling of Mosbey, too. Many of these families were black.
Where were your people born?I even left off U.S. in case they were foreign born. You mention where a photo was taken in TX and of a brother working in AR, but no other locations, such as where they were born. You say you cannot find any trace of Gus, did you try the 1900 census? What is your source for his possible birth year of 1871?If you could find Alfred and family on the 1900 census, it will ask month and year of birth of everyone in the household, very helpful in research.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
