Thank you for your response. I mentioned my ggrandfather's death date in my post - Mar. 27, 1903. I have now come to the conclusion that this clipping might have been the son, John B. Howe, b. 5 Mar. 1854 in Perry Co. MO.

I have no information on him in Texas. Also this could be a clipping sent by a friend or relative to let the family know of his death.

Will check further on the 'Brotherhood' too, perhaps they have records. Many thanks for your help and thoughts.
