Well, I'm stuck at James Pierce, b 24 Mar 1748 Berkeley Co, VA; m Margaret Dungan 1771 Frederick Co, MD (across the river, which also was across the county line and across the state line. Seems Margaret was too young to get married in VA.

He died 1 Apr 1833 Sevier Co, TN. I descend from his daughter Elizabeth, who married Adam Miller in Greene Co, TN. And, that's where the surname of Pierce marries out in my direct line. The name Pierce/Pearce is used as a middle name by the Miller, and later the Rice lines, clear down into TX.
