Burney Mills 1862>1938 buried in Rockport, TX (photo of headstone available)

Visiting Rockport, TX, I decided to visit the Rockport cemetary. While there I photographed several of the older, more interesting headstones and graves. My purpose is to share these photos with researchers for non-commercial, personal and family research purposes.

One of those headstones was that of BURNEY MILLS (full name SIMON BURNEY MILLS).

The late Larry Dugat shows the following on his website:

SARAH ANN9 COLE (JONATHAN (JOHN)8, JAMES7, JAMES6, JAMES5, STEPHEN4, THOMAS3, THOMAS2, EDMOND1) was born December 26, 1836 in Jefferson County, Republic of Texas, and died September 28, 1918 in Rockport, Texas. She married PLEASANT MILLS April 22, 1852 in Orange, Orange County, Texas. He was born October 21, 1827 in St Landry,Parish, Louisiaina, and died October 21, 1927 in Kerr County, Texas.

The late Mr. Dugat's website lists the children of SARAH ANN COLE and PEASANT MILLS, and among those children, he lists:
SIMON BURNY MILLS, b. January 11, 1862, Orange County, Texas; d. October 06, 1938.

According to the late Mr. Dugat's website, several of the siblings and ancestors of SARAH ANN COLE were born in ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA.

PLEASANT MILLS. He was born October 21, 1827, and died February 19, 1912.

Mr. Curtis' website lists the children of SARAH ANN COLE AND PEASANT MILLS, and among those children, he lists:
SIMON BURNY MILLS, b. 1862.

According to Mr. Curtis' website, several of the siblings and ancestors of SARAH ANN COLE were born in ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA.

PLEASANT MILLS was born on 21 Oct 1827 in LA. He died on 19 Feb 1912 in Rockport, TX. Parents: [None listed].
He was married to SARAH ANN COLE on 22 Apr 1852 in Orange, TX. Children were: MARGARET DRUSILLA (SILL) MILLS, Esabel MILLS, Simon Burney MILLS, John David MILLS, Elizabeth MILLS, Robert G. MILLS, Helda MILLS, Minnie MILLS.
