Grandison Walburn was the son of Jackson and Rachael (Cottrill, Gregory) Walburn. They were married in Meigs
Co OH in 1850. These Walburns were from Harrison Co WVA...to Meigs Co Oh (1850 Census)...to Chariton Co
MO, Prairie Township in 1860. In 1870, they are in Chariton Co, Salisbury Twp with the following children:
Thomas, age 8 b-MO...Joel, age 6 b-MO...Amanda, age 7 b-MO...William age 3 b-MO...Matilda Gregory age 17
b-OH...Barbara Ann Gregory, age 15 b-OH (there was a Margaret Gregory in the 1850 census, but she must have
died). Matilda, Barbara and Margaret were from Rachel's marriage to Thomas Gregory in 1840. In 1880, Jackson
and several of the children are still in Salisbury Twp. Rachel died by 1880. Jackson did remarry and died in
1896.
Also in 1880, in Chariton Co MO, Salisbury Twp is Nancy Cottrell, age 7, b-MO, with her parents, John Cottrell
and wife, Mary A and son Thomas, age 10
Grandison Walburn and wife, Nancy (Cottrell) are in Smith Co TX in 1920, they have a daughter Mabel.
Joel Walburn and wife Mollie are in Smith Co TX in 1920, also.
I would like to contact any descendants of this family. Barbara Ann Gregory Metcalf was my grandmother.
My father was born in Keytesville, Chariton Co MO in 1880, he was 57 when I was born and I did not find out
much about his family. I only learned reacently the names of her parents and step father and that she had
half brothers and sisters.
Thanks very much.
Jane Metcalf Waldeck
