Hi Judy.

The Texas State Library will do free lookups in the death certificate indices (geninfo@tsl.state.tx.us). You need to email them the approximate years of your grandfather's death, and as much info as you know about him (full name, age, birthplace, wife's name). They will send you the certificate number, and you can then order the death certificate from the State vital records office http://www.tdh.state.tx.us/bvs/registra/certcop.htm

The death certificate should list the names of his parents (as provided by his wife or children).
