Go to The Handbook of TX Online and type in Whetstone, #1 item is brief bio on Peter. At the bottom a source is given, and it includes "Vertical Files, Barker Texas History Center, University of Texas at Austin." You might want to contact them, plus the State Archives in Austin will probably have something on him, too. Some of the other items include bits on Peter, also. Happy Hunting.
