The dates of 1810-1812 in TX sounds pretty early, maybe he stopped somewhere along the way before reaching TX(?)Austin didn't take his settlers into TX until about 1821.Check Handbook of TX Online for info on Stephen Austin, see where he lived prior to TX.Does any of it match up with your Meshack, maybe he learned about TX from Austin, or went to TX with Austin.Something to follow up.
"Republic of Texas: Poll Lists for 1846" compiled by Marion Day Mullins, shows a Sharack Manis in Limestone Co, TX.He might be a son of your Meshack and named for his uncle that stayed in NC.Check the Limestone Co, TX GenWeb site, some GenWeb counties are putting their cemeteries online, you might find some members of the Manis family buried there.Post your query, plus ask if anyone has a county history and would they check for any possible information on Shadrack Manis or any of his family.
There are people on this forum that have books on very early settlers of TX, you might post another query with something in the subject box that would catch their eye -- "Help with Early TX Settler".Tell about Meshack, and his brothers. Then mention you know about a Shadrack Manis in Limestone Co, TX as early as 1846 from tax record, and is there a connection there. And, does anyone know how early Meshack arrived in TX?Happy Hunting.
