I have that site bookmarked, but I also use Getty Thesaurus..., GNIS and the Handbook of TX Online. I like the site you sent when I feel someone has misspelled the name of a town. You can scroll down and sometimes pick up the correct spelling of that town. LOL
I like GNIS for some things, by typing in a name of a cemetery, for example, but leaving off the feature type, sometimes up will come something like the name of a church, that matches, and you can just bet that cemetery a researcher wants is right next to that church. As my grandpa used to say, "There's more then one way to skin a cat."
No, if you find an online directory that sorts by county let me know! I'm not up on my TX geography, and certainly don't know all the counties for each town. With 254 counties does anyone have an idea of how many towns in TX. Ugh.
For my own research, I would be willing to go through an online list and check every town against the county location, but not when I'm just helping other researchers. Oh, I've been known to do it, if the list isn't too long, just an old softy. (^_^)
