Have you been able to find Joseph and Leontine on the 1920 census? That would give you the county where they resided at that time.

Check the GenWeb site for that county, plus Wharton Co. where your grandfather died; also Matagorda Co. given as his last residence on the SSDI. Some GenWeb counties are putting their cemeteries online, and you might find where Joseph & Leontine are buried. Once you do that you will have death dates, and then can obtain a copy of their death certiticates, which should show the names of their respective set of parents. Happy Hunting.
