Re: Shown-Forrestier marriages in TX

I'm looking for information on my Shown ancestors that seem to have been dropped in the middle of Texas from nowhere.

My limited information comes from my gr. grandmother's Death Certificate with details provided by her daughter, Hope Ollie Shown that she was living with at the time. She died March 9,1932 in Clarendon, Donley Co. Texas and is buried there. The only name was "Ma" Forister, b. June 7, 1849 in Lousiana. Her husband was listed as L. A. Shown (only info). They had five children, Bennie, Frances, Annie, Hope and James.

They lived in the Abilene-Brownwood area of Texas around 1870 to 1885. I have a reasonably certain feeling that they were married in Matagorda Co. of Texas on Feb. 7, 1866 in a double ceremony with Louisa Shown and Alexandre Forrestier but have no proof. Any information appreciated.
