Your suggestions are appreciated.
The information on John R. and "Betsey" as to births and deaths are from tombstones in East Texas...in Upshur county area.
I have checked on land claims in the Republic Land Claims Records:
Name Mentioned       Type       Claim Number       Claimant Name       Reel       First       Last
Taylor, John R.       PD       371       Nelson, William       176       474       484
Taylor, John R.       PD       474       Long, W. D.       169       150       152

As you see, there is some sort of transaction with a William Nelson, thus the query as to him being related to "Betsey".

However, I will take your other suggestions about posting for info in the county website and follow-up on Nacogdoches records.
Thanks for your time and information.
Rhonda
