Michelle, Panola Co. borders Nacogdoches Co., and going west out of Carthage on Highway 79, abour 8? miles out is a road on the right that leads to "Holland Quarters," once, I understand, a fairly thriving community. The website www.rootsweb.com/~txpanola has queries, surname registry, a survey of ALL cemeteries in the county, and even a history of Panola Co. communities. I found the responses there open and informative, and with the name of HOLLAND, you should have no problem linking to someone who can help, but parts of Nacogdoches, Panola, Shelby, and Rusk counties may once have belonged to a different county, so you should search all.

Good Luck - Helen D.
