Thank you for answering so quickly to some of my quarry. Yes I know that my Great-grandmother Mary Jane got a widow's pension because of my Great-grandfather having been a veteran of the Civil War. I have tried to look into the civil war pension areas and they say no record found. I live in Ohio and do you know how I can look at the Galveston records?
Yes he stayed in Il. after the war and all of his children were born in the Rock Island County area. There are only records for my grandfather and one uncle in the record office there. I do appreciate the help you have offered and I hope to get more on him soon.
If you should happen to come across any info and could send it to me please do by e-mail so I get it faster. Thank you again. Janet
