Williamson/Harrison/Morse--NY, IN, IA, TX

This is a *really* long shot. My g-g-grandfather was named Morse and he came to Texas from New York in maybe the 1840s. I don't know his first name. He was murdered on a cattle drive outside Laredo.

While in Indiana, coming back again from a visit with his family, he made a stopover (did he have relatives there, too) and then he ran off with a girl named Mary Ann Harrison whose family later moved to Iowa. Morse and Mary Ann settled around Hempstead, Texas and lived in Grimes Co., and later Waller Co, I think it was.

I wondered, since they named their firstborn George Williamson Morse, whether there might be any Morse/Williamson or Harrison/Williamson unions anyone knows of that might be a clue.

Also, I noticed George Williamson Morse named my grandfather Harry, which is not a given name on the mother's side of the family. Does anyone know of a proliferation of "Harrys" on any side such as the Morses, Williamsons, or Harrisons? George Williamson Morse also named his first two sons by his first marriage Claude and Elmer. I don't know if that's a clue either.

Would appreciate any suggestions of where one might look.
