Carthage, Texas is the county seat of Panola County which is located just south of me. There are many Hawthornes in Carthage. Prominent family. There was a Hawthorne department store, drug store and I think there is still a Hawthorne Funeral Home. My area phone directory does not include Carthage. Neal Hawthorne, attorney in Longview, Texas is from Carthage. Good luck.
