Maybe a connection here. My wife's g-g-grandfather (or thereabouts) was one of the orginal landowners in Fannin County. My source material is not available as I write this; but as I recall, his name was John (maybe James) Haywood Lock. He and his wife, Nancy Rowlett, came by boat to Fannin County in early 1800s; the boat sank near Bonham; they lost everything. The State of Texas ceded him some land. I did find him listed as an original land owner, so it seems to be true. Our connection is through his grandson, John Sam Lock (Plainview), my wife's grandfather. I just ran across a very extensive family tree from J. Haywood to the present. Hope this helps in your search. Gene Baumann, Rocheport, MO.
