Marion Stevenson Gann-Patroon, Texas
Looking for information on my great grandfather. Some of what I have is provable fact. Some is rumor or supposition on the part of my grandfather who is 86 years old.
What I know for sure is that Marion S. Gann had at least two brothers, Malachi and Aaron. There could have been a brother named Joshua, Joseph or Jacob. Something with a J. Grandpa's not sure. There were also several sisters, but he said he would have to ask around to get their names. All in all there were between 6 and 10 children that were siblings of Marion S. Gann. The S. could have stood for Stevenson or Stephenson. No one is really sure of the spelling.
M.S. Gann had the following children with his wife, Minnie Lee Monroe:
Marion Jewel Gann (B. 1915) This is my grandpa.
Azee Gann
Lavada Gann (B. July 1914)
Bessie Gann (B 1920)
Donald Lamar Gann (B. 1929. D 1930)
It is believed that Marion Stevenson's father was named George Gann, but I can't verify that as of yet. Grandpa said he thought there was a brother also named George, which would have been George Jr, I suppose. Grandpa says he seems to rememeber having an uncle George.
Anyway, this would have likely been around the East Texas areas of Patroon, Paris, Gilmer, Gladewater, Ore City, Longview or Tyler, just to name some areas. If you think we've got a match, feel free to E-mail me! :)
