I have a copy of 1850 Jasper County, Tx census. Drury Anglin was living with Samuel and Emily Turner, my g g grandparents. Drury was listed as age 55 on the census. No birthplace is listed for him. I originally thought he may have been Emily's father but found out from Betty Walker that Emily's maiden name was Midkiff. I don't know why Drury was living in this household as have not been able to make a connection there. Also, William Anglin, listed as age 23, born in La was on the same census. His spouse was Sarah and through a lot of digging found out her maiden name was Walters. Her father was Lemuel Walters and mother was Sally Turner. William and Sarah lived next door to Lemuel Walters, age 55, along with his children, Delilah, age 27, Samuel age 7 and Robert age 4. Birthplace for William and Sarah is La. Sarah was only 14. Lemuel Walters states he was a carpenter, born in NC, Delilah born in Ms and the two youngest born in Texas. I also came across the same William and Sarah on another Tx census but cannot remember which county. I know it was on the eastern side of Tx. Hope this helps some.
