Most census records are not online, yet. One site is in the process of doing so, but for a fee. I don't know where you live, but go on the county GenWeb site and county GenForum site, for the county where you live, and ask where the nearest source of census microfilms is located. I had one lady tell me she lived near Dallas. I couldn't believe she hadn't been to the Dallas Pub. Lib. which has large genealogy collection, or to the NARA branch in Ft. Worth. So, you may have something right in your backyard, and haven't heard about it.

Some GenWeb counties are putting cemeteries online, but some are adding even more. You might find census indexes just for the county. But, that won't help you if you don't know the county. A state wide index would be what you want.
