In your first query, you state most of the children were born in Wilson Co, TX.Did your family go from Wilson Co, TN to Wilson Co, TX, or is there a typo?I am assuming they started in TN, if there hadn't been a TN, never would have been a TX.Many early Texans came from TN.
If the couple was married in Wilson Co, TN, I would check the 1840 census for that county.McBride probably isn't too common, find families that have a male in the right age category to be Pleasant. Then do the same with Midgett, and find family with female in right age category to be Nancy. They will marry before 1850 census, but follow up on the "possible" families from the 1840 census.Sometimes when we cannot find "our" family, we eliminate all those not our family, then work on the remaining ones.I have done this in "tough" cases, and found what I wanted. Then you can check out probate records for head of household from "possible" families.Do any of them name Pleasant or Nancy?Nancy's father may name her, but since she would be married, will probably name her husband also, at least name her by her married name, and there is your proof.Pleasant"s father may name him, and state he is somewhere out in TX.Again, at least a tie to work on.
TN GenWeb county sites are adding a lot of material online. You might find census indexes for Wilson Co. on the Wilson Co, TN GenWeb site. Many GenWeb counties are at least adding cemeteries online, and like I said, many TN counties are adding even more. They are growing, so check back from time to time.Good luck.
