The copy of the census I have is very poor. It appears the name is Keigan, but I have seen an on-line version of the census where it has been transcribed as Kergan.
At this point my interest in the Keigans/Kergans is that my great grandfather, Daniel Turney, is shown as living with the Keigan/Kergan family in the 1850 census for Cherokee County, TX. I am at a loss for information on Daniel prior to this census. Also, for you information a Smith family lived with the Keigans/Kergans in the 1850 census.
