John Henry Scurlock, CSA

Looking to identify John Henry Scurlock, who was in Co. I, 6th Texas Cavalry, CSA.

Website for "Os Confederados" (Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp in Brazil) indicates this soldier was one of many who emigrated to Brazil following the defeat of Southern forces in 1865.

I'm speculating, but possibly this is a son of Jackson Monroe Scurlock 1817-1867 and Mary Mills; Jackson Monroe Scurlock son of Joshua (II) Scurlock c. 1765-1831. Jackson Monroe was of a large family; his elder sister, Harriet Scurlock 1803-1888 of Jackson County, FL was my 2d great-grandmother.

All info gratefully received.
