Can someone direct me please? A while ago we were told my husband's grt gm, Addie or Adaline M. Fears Wortham, was the first woman licensed in TX to practice medicine. Surely there would be some way to find out about this or her in general if this is correct. I've just had my first lead on her recently and got me to wondering about how to follow up on this. I do not know what county this would have taken place in but several of the older children were born in Corsicana, Navarro Co, and later they were in Merkel, Taylor Co.; possibly were also in Cooke Co at one point as well as indication some of her family may have been physician in Ellis Co. We were also told by the same person that their line was told she and husband Robert J. Wortham had a medical college I think was supposedly in Merkel as well. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to get me started in this pursuit. Thanks, Sandra
