Do you know when and where Malcolm Neathery died? Was it in TX and after 1903? TX began keeping vitals in 1903. Your information is a bit skimpy, but if he falls in right time period, obtain a copy of his death certificate. It should have the names and birth location of his parents.

Check Lamar Co, TX GenWeb site, some GenWeb counties are putting their cemeteries online. See if any Neatherys are buried there. Also, post a query, ask if anyone has a copy of the published county history, and would they check their copy for your family. The surname is unusual enough, it might catch someone's attention.
