I am tracing line of:
Margaret Hopper m. Andrew Pye then Allen Pye then Wayatt Thornton, Ga.
Margaret and Andrew had children. My interest
is Louisa Pye who m.Gilbert Mc(k)innish in Campbell Co. Ga. They had children. My interest
is in Manerva(Manery) Mckinnish b.Ogelthorpe Co. Ga. Then moved with family to Randolph
Co. Al. m. (place unknown) Jerry Thompson, b.Heard Co. Ga.1869.son of Edwin & Francis
Thompson. Jerry & Manery had daughter b.1879 AL. (birth cert from mid wife)s/b Louisa
called Eliza. which could have been her real name? and a son (my Dad) b.1894 William
Jackson Thompson(no birth proof found)then moved to Heidenhiemer, Texas had another son
1896 Daniel Webster Thompson(no birth proof found) Children say that Manery and Jerry died
shortly after Dan's death. But time is not the same to children as to adults. The children were
sent back to Wedowee, Randolph Co. AL. to live with Aunt Susie Mcinnish, Manery's sister,
another daughter of Louisa and Gilbert Mcinnish. They show up on the 1910 Randolph Co. AL.
census with her.
I have letters - one headed Heidenheimer, Texas addressed to Louisa McKinnish signed
"Manery Thompson" starts Dear Mom and tells of liking her new home and the clear water and
good crops. Asks about Sydney (sister) getting married.
2nd one seems to be written by a sister or brother of Jerry. It seems to be written in 1905, but
not sure. Refers to "my brother" tells of Jerry's death in Rosebud,Bell Co. Texas,(I may have
Fall's and Bell Co's reversed.) It tells of Jerry being attended by a Dr. Bailey, I have seen
queries for Dr. Bailey of Rosebud,Texas in the Bailey or Texas County, forums, so the letter
has credence. It also mentions that they are waiting for a guardian to be appointed for the
orphaned children and says they will use Jerrys mules and wagon to make a living for the
children in the interim. The letter seems to be written to a Jean or June or could be Jane.
William Jackson Thompson is my father.
Aunt Louise married a Mcmurray in Michigan.
Uncle Dan also went to Michigan married 1st unknown, had son Charles Lavender Thompson,
wife died Dan m. 2nd unknown and had 2 daughters. Son, Charles was killed in an auto
accident, about 30 years old, I do not know if he had children.
I would like to get a birth Cert for Dan, and a death cert for Manery and Jerry, I have written to
the Texas counties, but no results. Any suggestions. Where would the guardianship papers be in
Texas or Al.?
Would appreciate hearing anything on these folks.
Seems Grandparents Manery + Jerry came from thin air and vanished into thin air.
