Hyperlink at the end of this message will take you to the TX GenWeb site, scroll down to county index options. There are many options offered on the TX state level, click on some, you may not need all the information at this time, but you will know where to find it when the need arises. For example, click on Texas Research Helps (it has a gold star by it). You will find things like the Handbook of Texas Online. On that site you can find all kinds of info on historical and geographical subjects about TX. Other sites listed on TX Res. Helps are TX Ranger Museum, Confederate Museum in Hillsboro etc etc. Click on some of these items and get very familiar with the items offered.

First option on the TX GenWeb site is The USGenWeb Project, when you finish searching TX, go back and click on that. It will take you to the U.S. level and from there you can pick any state you want. States, and counties within the states, vary on info offered, but all are growing, so keep going back and see what is new.
