Well, post queries on Gillespie and Bexar Cos. And, post one on the "unknown" TX GenWeb county, too. You really don't know in which county he died. Have you checked for land records in either county? I wouldn't think Schnerr was a very common surname. Have you checked with Austin on the TX State Wide Death Index from about 1903 to 1940, see if he, or his parents, are on it? Online index doesn't begin until 1964.
