Dallas founder-John Neely Bryan

I recently ran across John Neely Bryan's ancestry. I am trying to figure out if this information is correct. Here is what it says:

Morgan Bryan Sr, is said to be the great-grandfather of John Neely Bryan. From Morgan Bryan Sr. through his son John, and John's son James, father of John Neely Bryan.

I am having trouble proving that John Bryan (Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode's son)really had a son named John Bryan. Can someone lead me in the right direction to the correct information?

I have found this so far:
In Morgan Bryan's will he lists a son named John.
Then I found the marriage of James (John Neely's father) to his wife Elizabeth. James also mentions a John N. Bryan in his will (this is also what the New Handbook of Texas, says).
In the McGubbins files it tells of how Capt John Bryan (Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode's son) was killed Col. Fanning. It also mentions Elizabeth Frances Battle being John Bryan's wife (Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode's son).

Any information on proving John Bryan (Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode's son), had a son named John Bryan would be very highly appreciated!!
