Have you tried the Marion Co, TX GenWeb site? Some GenWeb counties are putting their cemeteries online. Post your query and ask if anyone has a copy of a published county history. Surely your family would be in it, and see if they will check their copy for any info on your Ferrells. The Handbook of Texas Online gives some info on the dam, and says it is a federal project. I don't know if the records would have any thing on your family, but the NARA branch in Ft.Worth is the repository for federal records generated in OK, LA, AR and TEXAS. If you don't live within driving distance, here is their email address - archives@ftworth.nara.gov - and here is their website:
