I am searching for info on my CHILDERS-CHILDRESS family from Catawba Co. NC. I am at a brick wall with this family before my G-grandfather Daniel.
My line is as follows:
GG-Grandfather:
William Childers married Sarah ?? date unknown, from Catawba Co. census
G-Grandfather:
Daniel Wood? Childress b: Sept 1862-3 Catawba Co married Sophia Roxanna Fisher 26-JUN-1881
Grandmother:
Carrie Lee Childress b: July 21, 1893 Catawba Co married 1. John H. Ratley in Brady TX about 1908.
2. Martin Marvin Mansfield Morriss 1-Feb-1915 in Menard Co TX.
I have Census' for Wm and Sarah (Sallie) from 1850- 1880. they also had other sons, Miles Wesley, John C, and Thomas Coleman and a daughter Dovie. May be others.
I am wondering if my Sarah may be the sister of Rebecca Wood that married Jonathon Childers, since my G-grandfather was named Daniel Wood Childress. Jonathon is about the same age as my GG-Grandfather William Childers according to 1850 Catawba Co census, roll: 624 pg: 304 2nd pg. (Mountain Creek Twonship)
If anyone knows anything about this family, please help me. I would love to find out Sarah's last name and date/place of their births, marriage and deaths. Or anything.
