I'm wondering how to find out some info on my great great great grandfather and his family who lived in McLennan County. His name was James Paul "Jim" Taylor and he moved there at some point between the 1850 and 1860 census. In 1860 he was a Teamster there. Family legend says he may have gone up the chisholm trail. Is there any way to look up Teamster companies or roster rolls of this era? In 1870 he is still living in McLennan but he's listed as a farmer instead of a teamster. He is also remarried to a lady named Susan Davis. His first wife, Elizabeth Anderson, i'm assumed died. I can find no record of her gravesite, though, or record of marriage for Jim and Susan. He and most of his family left McLennan sometime in the early 1870's. I'm thinking they lived there for close to 20 years, so surely I should be able to find some sort of official record. Any help is greatly appreciated.
