My g-grandfather James Anderson Kiser b.4 March 1859 in Comanche Co., TX was visiting family members in Mason Co., TX in 1902, when he became ill and died (28 Aug 1902). He was buried in Mason county. The cemetery was in a pasture. The one time his son Earl was there was to put up a stone. T. Clyde Poynor ( a cousin) took him there.
The closest house was ten miles. Between 3 towns: Brady, Mason and can't remember the third one (but, probably San Saba, as this would be the route he took back to his home in Comanche Co., TX). There is no listing for him in the Mason cemeteries book. Can anyone offer any guidance in finding his grave?
BTW, the Book: "Mason County Graves and Cemeteries" by Ruby E. and Julius Devas and Jane Herster:
Lists a grave for J.A. Kiser b. 10-18-1824 d. 12-17-1901 in Wagram Cemetery (NW side of FM 386 ~ 2.5 mi. south of Fredonia. Six more Kiser are buried here. Obviously, not the correct DOB and DOD.this is the grave for Jacob Anderson Kiser.
Any help will be appreciated.
