U.S. States: Texas: Madison County
I really don't think I would be much help to you but would make a couple of suggestions. First the Texas Almanac, published annually by the Dallas Morning News, is one of the best reference books there is for locating towns in Texas. They list all that exist today and all, even small villiages, that ever did exist. The only "Rising Star" that they show is in Shackelford County, which is quite a ways west of Madison Co.
Second, I do know there are Spives in Gregg County today and there were, and probably still are some in Williamson County. You may want to post in those also.
Best of Luck W.C.
