Hi Pam, :- )
Thank you for the information. My GGrandfather is the son of William Jules Dean and Mary Jane Robinson (side note - her father was Dr. George Washington Robinson of Madison County who was injured in the Battle of San Jacinto).
William Jules Dean's brother was Benjamin Franklin Dean your GGrandfather. William then named his son Benjamin Franklin Dean my GGrandfather.
Starlin is elusive. I don't even know what his mother's name was. I would love to know anything you come up with prior to their life in Alabama. I have been to the Allphin Cemetery where your GGrandfather, Benjamin Franklin Dean is buried and I saw Starlin's headstone. It does say Starlin, not Starling. I so wish I could remember the stories my grandmother and great aunt used to tell about Starlin...they had the information, but I was too young to know what they were talking about.
Thank you, Pam.
I look forward to hearing from you.
