Sue,
Dr. Patrick Lawson Hayes was an early land owner of Madison County. He owned "Seven Oaks Plantation."
His son Hugh Lawson Hayes was heir to the land and married Susan Margaret Goree daughter of Dr. Langston James Goree, founder of Judson College of Marion, AL. Dr. Goree's 2nd wife Sarah Williams Kittrell was the daughter of Dr. Pleasant Williams Kitrell who also accompanied these families from AL to TX due to the urging of Margaret Lea, wife of General Sam Houston.

Patrick's daughter Mary Hayes married Wm. Caswell Young a veteran of the battle of San Jacinto. The Youngs lived in Midway TX and raised 7 children.
Amanda Jane (Rogers)
Melissa (Goree)
Mary Ann(Mollie)(Riley)
Margaret (Maggie) unmarried
Wm Foster Hayes m. Loula Forrest
Frank Lawson m. Nita Branch
James m. Mary Frances Smith.

Sue I was acquainted with Lucille Goree Randolph and admired her very much.
Sincerely,
Nancy Page
